The Accent on Youth Strategy was unveiled by the province on December 18, 2008. The purpose of the strategy is to forge strategic alliances to encourage Francophone youth to become actively involved in their communities.
Along with the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Fédération de la jeunesse franco-ontarienne and the Desjardins Group, Collège Boréal joined as a partner in the government's strategy through their Young Business Network called Regroupement des jeunes gens d'affaires. Regroupement des jeunes gens d'affaires was founded by a group of students at Collège Boréal in March 2007 in order to provide young people with opportunities for professional development and community development in northeastern Ontario.
In 1998, Francophone business people in the Sudbury region created an organization to provide networking opportunities. The Regroupement des gens d'affaires francophones plays a key role in economic and social development in northeastern Ontario. It is also a sponsor of the Regroupement des jeunes gens d'affaires.
